प्रलयवरह शिल्प –
हिरण्याक्ष नावाचा दैत्याने पृथ्वीला पाताळात नेल्यावर, विष्णूने वराह अवतार घेऊन हिरण्याक्ष दैत्याच वध केला आणि पाण्यात बुडालेल्या पृथ्वीचा उद्धार केला.. त्यानंतर पृथ्वीची स्थापना शेषनागाच्या मस्तकावर केली. विष्णूच्या या अवताराच्या अवतारमूर्ती भारतभर बघायला मिळतात. यज्ञ वराह(संपूर्ण पशुरुप) नृवराह(धड मनुष्याचे शीर वराहाचे) अश्या दोन रुपात ह्या मूर्ती बघायला मिळतात. नृवराहाला महावराह, किंवा भुवराह असेही म्हणतात.(प्रलयवरह शिल्प)
नृवराह हा यज्ञ वराह किंवा प्रलयवराह अश्या दोन प्रकारात शिल्पांकीत होतो. प्रलयवराह साकारताना दोन पायांच्या पैकी एक पाय कासवावर, तर दुसरा शेषनागाच्या डोक्यावर असावा, एक हात कमरेवर, एका हातात गदा, कमळ, आणि एक हातात पृथ्वी असावी, काही वेळेस पायाजवळ शेषनाग आणि पृथ्वी म्हणजेच भुदेवी नमस्कार मुद्रेत दाखवतात.
खाली दिलेलं शिल्प हे प्रलयवरहाचे असून यात वरहाच्या एका हातात गदा, एक हातात नागाची शेपटी, एक हात छातीजवळ धरलेला आहे. वर उचंवलेला पाय नागाच्या डोक्यावर असून, जवळच भुदेवी नमस्कार मुद्रेत दाखवण्यात आलेली आहे.

When a giant named Hiranyaksha took the earth to the *abyss* , Vishnu took the incarnation of a pig and killed Hiranyaksha the giant and saved the submerged earth. Then he established the earth on the head of Sheshnag.
Incarnations of this, Vishnu can be seen all over India. These idols can be seen in two forms, namely, Yajna Varaha (whole animal form) and Nruvaraha (the body of a human with head of Varaha). Nruvaraha is also called Mahavaraha, or Bhuvaraha.
Nruvaraha is sculpted in two ways, Yajna Varaha or Pralayavaraha. One of the two legs should be on the head of the tortoise, the other on the head of the Sheshnag, one hand on the waist, one hand on the hammer, the lotus, and the earth on the other hand.
The sculpture below is of Pralayavaraha or nruvaraha and has a hammer in one hand, a sheshnag’s tail in one hand and a hand near the chest. The raised leg is on the head of the sheshnag BHUDEVI is seating near in Namskar Mudra.
